Thank you for participating in my challenge! I really love how you captured the sunset and reeling in the fish in the glow of the sun. Great picture!

Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photo, at sunset, on a small lake near where we live.

Time

The fish to seem to bite better in the evenings, so it is fun to get together with family members and go fishing. I am not really interested in fishing, so I take my camera along and that keeps me entertained!

Lighting

As the sun was setting on this beautiful evening, it was just the right light for some photos of the fishing action, and I always like to try for some sunbursts. I was able to get myself into a good position in the boat to be able to do this.

Equipment

I use a Sony A99 camera and for this shot my wider lens which is a Sony 16-50. I was shooting hand held.

Inspiration

I always like photos with a sunburst in them and as the evening light was happening while we were out on the lake, and the fish were biting, I found the perfect opportunity to take some photos that were a bit artistic plus would make great family memories.

Editing

I just did some cropping and worked a bit with the contrast.

In my camera bag

I normally have in my bag my Sony A99II camera with my Tamron 28-300 lens on it. I did not use it for this shot, but it is what I use 90% of the time. I like the versatility of that lens. I also carry with me the Sony 16-50 for wider shots and a collection of filters including a polarizer, variable neutral density, and a split density. Cleaning cloths always seem to be a necessary item too.

Feedback

The best advice I can say is just keep your camera with you and always be ready for some unexpected photo moments. Especially when your children or grandchildren are with you.
