I took this portrait in my living room which has an alcove in which is our television.Time
It was mid to late afternoon.Lighting
Because it was mid to late afternoon the sun was shining into our living room through our window from right to left. This gave an nice side light to my dogs.Equipment
I draped a large piece of black velvet over our television and place my two dogs in front of it. I used my Sony A7 mk3 with a 70-100 zoom lens and handheld the camera to take the picture using natural light.Inspiration
My two dogs are my pride and joy and I enjoy taking pictures of them. I wanted to try a 'studio' shot of them.Editing
I used Lightroom to darken the image around the dogs to give a complete black background. In my camera bag
I have my Sony A7 mk3 camera and attached to that my Sony 70-100mm zoom lens. I also carry a 50mm prime lens and my Sony 200-600mm zoom lens. I also carry cleaning equipment for my camera and lenses. Also included is my waterproof coverings for the camera and lenses.Feedback
This was really a very easy photo to achieve. It used the natural low light of the afternoon streaming in from right to left and a large piece of black velvet to get rid of annoying background detail which I draped over the television. Then I deepened the background in Lightroom to achieve a complete dark background.
