Love the idea, I just wonder if it would still work if you made it look really "old world"? I really like it though.

What an amazing gallery of photographs, so creative in conception and brilliantly executed. Delightful!

Location
This was taken in my home, using natural window light. It was my first 'selfie' using my Canon 6D, and was tricky as I would set the timer and run into place.Time
This was taken early morning, when I find that I'm more creative and likely to run with an ideaLighting
I wanted to incorporate lighting similar to the chiaroscuro style lighting you often see in the Old Masters paintingsEquipment
I used my heavy duty manfrotto tripod, a Canon 6D, a Sigma 24-70mm lens.Inspiration
I simply realized I was overdue for a current self portrait on social media. I wanted something quirky, that I thought represented me well. Having a love for all things classic and baroque, partnered with my modern love for a certain branded coffee seemed to be the perfect fit.Editing
For post processing, I applied green/yellow colour toning, and decreased any magenta or orange toning that was present in the original image. In my camera bag
Always present with me is my Canon 6D, Sigma 24-70 lens, and Canon 70-200 lens. I usually bring a monopod to assist with the heavier 70-200 lens. I am a portrait photographer and find these two lenses suit my needs quite well.Feedback
Run with your ideas! Don't allow distraction or second guessing to interrupt your creative process. I often gather tidbits of fabrics, dead insects, jewellery, anything I find inspiring. I have two drawers of items that I know will find their perfect moment to shine!
