I love the timelessness of this black and white. it could take the viewer back in time to the wild west days or anytime up to present. Great image for the imagination.

Location
This photo was taken on a hillside near Spearfish, SD.Time
This photo was taken in the early morning right at sunrise.Lighting
With a backlit subject, I definitely exposed for the highlights, then converted to black and white in Photoshop.Equipment
This was shot with one of my first DSLR cameras, a Canon 50D, and I used a 55-250mm kit lens. I took alot of great photos and learned so much with that set-up before upgrading equipment!Inspiration
I took this photo as part of a workshop in the Black Hills. I met so many great people and learned so much!Editing
I really just cropped and converted to black and white in Photoshop. In my camera bag
I now shoot with the Canon 90D. The 3 lenses that are always in my bag are the Canon 70-300L, the Canon 100mm Macro, and the Canon 15-85mm. I love those 3 lenses!Feedback
When shooting silhouettes, expose for the highlights. Pay careful attention to little details like space between legs, body positions and where the grasses fall on the legs.
