This beautiful monument sits high above the Columbia Gorge. Wild horses led by a stallion was designed and cut out of steel by David Govedare from Chewelah, Wa. He started the project on his ranch in 1991 and then assembled them atop the ridge. The art work was originally to be named "Grandfather Cuts Loose The Ponies". However, his original design was cut short due to the expense to continue. He visits this site often and ensures the graffiti and steel horses are kept in good repair. A beautiful tribute to an animal that helped to settle the west..
