Behind The Lens
Location
On Safari in NamibiaTime
Early afternoon.Lighting
The lighting wasn't ideal as it was the middle of the day which caused some highlights on the elephant's ear.Equipment
Canon DSLR with a 2.8 70-200mm zoom L series lensInspiration
We had been watching this elephant for several m minutes, suddenly it came charging towards us and I wanted to capture the moment. Fortunately I wasn't driving.Editing
I lowered the highlights in order to remove the worst of the highlights on the elephant's ear and boosted the colours a little as I have me camera set on neutral. In my camera bag
I was on safari, so all my equipment was taken to achieve maximum reach. I had a Canon 7DmkII which has a smaller sensor which increases the focal length of a lens by a factor of 1.6. I had a 70-200mm zoom lens and a 100-400mm zoom, and also a 1.4x converter.Feedback
Be patient.
