Several years ago, I discovered a less expensive way to England, via Portugal. I knew an architect in Estoril, just west of downtown Lisbon, so decided to grab a cross Atlantic flight, a hotel room, spend a few days shooting the World Heritage sites there, eat some excellent food with my photo pal and then fly on to Heathrow and my work.
My guide took me to so many sites that the trip turned into a book of memories and stories later on.
This bridges crosses the Tejo River between the southern escarpment of Lisbon, the docks for ferries, a number of monuments, and on to the Almada district, where an enormous concrete monument rises from the norther hills with a replica of the Christo, like the one in Rio, rising from the rocks.
