Bee's. They always walk away from you. Has this been sharpened or is it fringing?

This is one of my earliest efforts as a novice and I still am. I had just bought my first good new beaut camera and had taken to going off for drives to find exciting things to photograph. I had gone into the hills of Perth this day and had found a couple of things to spend time shooting while exploring my camera. Right next to me I noticed this amazing native plant with many bees buzzing on it. I attempted many times to get a good looking picture and that is how this photo came about.Time
I had dropped my granddaughter off to school and after driving up into the hills it would have been about eleven o'clock in the morning. It was a beautiful sunny winter's day with a welcoming hint of spring.Lighting
The sun was high in the sky and shining very brightly. I was lucky that day as there was little or no wind as this would have made it impossible. At first I was choosing bees low down on the bush which caused too much shadow from the upper leaves of the bush. I tried to locate a position where the sun was over my shoulder and ended with my shadow cast upon my photo as I was aiming my camera downwards. Eventually I found a position that allowed for me to shoot a couple of alright photos including this one. I have since learnt its not a good idea to shoot in the middle of the day as the sun can be quite harsh but it can be done with a bit more experience than I had then.Equipment
I used my new Nikon Coolpix camera without any other equipment.Inspiration
My inspiration to try a macro image came from seeing all the beautiful perfect macro pictures taken by members in Viewbug. This was very new to me back in 2016 as well as fascinating.Editing
All I did to this photo was to crop away some of the background. I didn't have any knowledge or equipment to do anything else plus I rather like photos as they are taken. In my camera bag
I take only my camera and lens brush as I do a lot of hiking so prefer not to carry to much. I also carry my water bottle, phone and glasses.Feedback
I think you need to be patient with yourself and take your time to learn your camera. I find you can take the same photo everyday and they are never the same because of the light, the weather and time of day. Take your time and take several photos trying different strategies with both your camera angle and focus as well as your light source. Best advice is never give up as a professional photographer has failed more times than you have tried.
