Nostalgia funny car is the best class out there...I'm biased though..it's a growing class here in the UK.

Congratulations Dave! I have chosen your shot as the winner for the "Race car in motion" Photo Challenge! Love the G-Forces at work in this shot!

Congrats Dave on being chosen Peoples Choice winner in my Motorsports Action Challenge. This is a great image and was in my top 2 in the running for winner. As a track photog myself I enjoy viewing images that I have never seen before. This was the first for me......G forces in action here for sure rear wheels up after chute deployment great timing

I chose it again Dave! It was still the best! There's always a ton of starting line shots, but very few top end shots. The fact that you caught the car with the back wheels in the air makes it a great "action" shot! Congratulations, again!

Location
This photo was taken at the California Hot Rod Reunion at Auto Club Famoso Raceway, north of Bakersfield, California in October 2015. This is a Funny Car (class of drag racing cars) and the area after the finish line at Famoso is somewhat bumpy so as they slow after 250 plus mph runs, some of them get to bouncing and here I caught Bazz Young bouncing to a stop.Time
Looking at the shadows, it was late afternoon and I prefer to shoot the backlit side at Famoso both for the quality of light and the background.Lighting
As mentioned above, I prefer the backlit side of the track mainly for the quality of light.Equipment
Nikon D7100 with Nikon 200-500/F5.6 zoom and Manfrotto monopodInspiration
I have been shooting drag racing all my life and although retired from full-time traveling on the circuit, I still like to stay active and enjoy shooting.Editing
Post-processing consisted of cropping and adjusting levels. In my camera bag
My full bag consists of 2 Nikon D7100 bodies, a Nikon SB-910 flash, Nikon 10.5mm/F.28 fisheye, Nikon 18-140 zoom, Nikon 80-200/F2.8 zoom and Nikon 200-500/F5.6 zoom plus Manfrotto monpod.Feedback
This was shot from an area that requires special access, so relatively few people can do this. That said, for anyone shooting any form of motorsports, be aware of lighting and backgrounds and ALWAYS be alert as this is a very dangerous endeavor.
