This is a beautiful portrait.
How did you get such a beautiful clear shot at 5000mm, what type of lens were you using?.

Nikon D7100 with Nikkor 200-500 F5.6 handheld.Inspiration
If you're not inspired by the majesty of a bald eagle, what would it take?Editing
Just a simple adjustment in levels. In my camera bag
The D7100 that this image was shot with was replaced by a D500 the very next week. I now carry 2 Nikon D500 bodies, a Nikon SB-910 flash, Nikon 10.5mm F2.8 fisheye, Nikon 18-140, Nikon 80-200 F2.8 AFS, Nikon 200-500 F5.6 and Tokina 10-21 F2.8 plus a Manfrotto monpod and Slik tripod.Feedback
Silence is golden. There was scheduled to be an organized bald eagle watch at Pahranagat, but it was canceled due to the lack of eagles nesting in the area this year. My wife and I had already planned a 3 day weekend, so we went anyway and the wildlife refuge was virtually deserted. We saw no one on the path around the lake and spotted this beauty from about 75 yards out. We approached him slowly and silently and he sat still and allowed me to circle the tree and take shots from multiple angles. Unfortunately, when he took flight, my position was such that I couldn't get any shots of him in flight. This was the only bald eagle we saw that day.
