Behind The Lens
Location
This photo was taken on my patio. I had planted the flowers previously and they were now in full bloom.Time
This photo was taken in the afternoon.Lighting
The flowers were in the shade, so the lighting was not harsh.Equipment
I used a Nikon D3100 camera, and the kit lens 18-55 mm. The shot was taken handheld. I also had a cirular polarizing filter on the lens. This helped make the color popInspiration
I really enjoyed the flowers. This was the first time I had planted this variety and I loved the rich colors.Editing
As far as post processing, I did reduce noise a little, and adjusted the curves slightly. No major editing was necessary. In my camera bag
I normally have the camera body, two lenses, cpl, cloth, remote trigger, extra batteries ans memory cards. I travel light in my bag.Feedback
I looked for a unique position that showed the flowers from several angles at the same time. The green leaves framed the flowers and the contrast of colors really popped.
