Location
This photo was taken in SW Slovenia (Socerb village) with view over the Trieste city. Storm was moving there and I followed it.Time
It was almost midnight, when the cold front reached our country and the storms started to appear. This photo was taken around midnight.Lighting
Lighting is provided by lightning itself and city lights that create a nice composition. Being a storm chaser is often just being at the right place at the right moment, so you can't really choose your view, etc.Equipment
I used Nikon D3300 with 17-55 KIT, this was my first camera and Velbon CX 888 Black tripod.Inspiration
I'm a stormchaser, I'm a member of Neurje.Si (Storm chasers Slovenia) and we try to predict weather and we chase storms. It's our hobby, passion and also a job.Editing
Post-processing was nothing special - a little contrast, exposure a little bit down and sharpness a little bit up and this is it.In my camera bag
Now I have my Nikon D7200, Sigma 10-20 and Sigma 17-50 lens, with Hoya ND 200 filter, a remote control, Manfrotto Befree tripod, Velbon CX 888 tripod for my other lens - Sigma 150-600 C, a reserve battery for my camera and a small cloth to clean my lens.Feedback
First, know the weather and weather forecast and if you don't know the basic caracteristics of storms and their movement it's better that you don't chase them or you will get into trouble or maybe even life threat. Other than that, you will need a little and basic photography knowledge for shooting lightning (exposure time, etc.).
