I believe it was around 5pm.Lighting
All natural lighting. Golden hour is my favorite time to shoot portraits, and I wanted to combine it with street photography.Equipment
5D Mark III, Sigma 24-70mm f2.8.Inspiration
One of my goals on this specific photo walk was to specifically overexpose the background shooting a street portrait during golden hour. As soon as I came across this perfect moment of a horse cart driver taking a break and drinking a glass of tea, I knew I hit the jackpot.Editing
Barely any, aside from basic adjustments in LR (brightness, contrast, highlights, shadows) and slightly moving the black point in the RGB curve. In my camera bag
I always carry my: Canon 5D Mark III, Giga T-Pro II, Sigma 24-70mm F2.8 EX, Canon 17-40mm F4L, Canon EF 70-200mm F2.8L IS II, Hoya 82mm Variable ND, Cokin C-Pol filter, SLK tripod, lens cleaning kit.Feedback
Having a vision for your photo is awesome, but improvising on the spot is also extremely rewarding. I had never purposely overexposed a shot, but it was something I wanted to experiment with. The technique was planned, the subject matter wasn't. Just keep experimenting, you'll never run out of new ways to improve and new things to learn.
