It has been quite some time since I have set out into the great land of wilderness and nature. Today was one of those days where all thought it was raining buckets I still had that fire burning inside me that was telling me to get out there and explore. I set out to a well known and photographed location out in Whistler just an hour past Vancouver. This location is quite the little trek through trails and down cliffs using ropes. This was the first time I actually got to use my new D810 for more then shooting in my back yard. I cant wait to learn more!

Wow. Sounds fairly undisturbed out there. Certainly don't see any fire hydrants! I like this alot.

Location
I took this photo at a local waterfall called Brandywine falls. It is rather popular to shoot these set of falls from the top but me, always being the type to photograph a place with a special view, decided to shoot it from the bottom. They are located around the Whistler area here in CanadaTime
This photo was taken around an hour before the sun had gone down. I remember them particular day as it was pouring rain. Nothing was going to stop me though from shooting these falls!Lighting
There was nothing to special about the lighting it was quite overcast..I did however still need to use some of my filters on the d810Equipment
I use a Nikon d810 with wonderpana CPL filter system.Inspiration
I have always enjoyed escaping into nature away from humanity as far as I can go. Waterfalls to me represent beauty in nature and sheer power. I love to set out and explore new waterfalls. There is just so many variety to shoot in the world.Editing
I did pretty minimal processing on this image. Just some quick color and tonality work. I did crop it around 50% from its original size to put the d810 to its true detail test.In my camera bag
I usually travel with my carbon fiber tripod, Nikon D810... Some filters nothing to special just a CPL and a 4 stop for when the light is to bright. Bear spray, an air horn..Feedback
This scene was a scene I came across while exploring down in this area. I knew right away when I had arrived at the top that I needed to make my way to the bottom where the water was flowing. I knew it would give the best perspective to show the sheer force and magnitude of these falls. I did place myself in the frame to give a better sense of depth to the image. The best way to capture a scene like this I would say use filters for sure.
