Here is some what of a creative shot to kick off my photos from my trip to the Canadian Rockies this past few days. I guess this is sort of pushing the creative boundaries a tad .. I am learning as I go here. To me this is about envisioning, creating, and inspiring....Upon reaching the locations I had set out to photograph that I had envisioned, I was greeted with a series of overcast rainy days. It wasn't often I caught a break in the skies this entire trip. So some of my works I figured I would get creative with rather then going home empty handed. I have always had this vision of a photo with a character reaching out for the stars in it. Kind of like how humanity is always reaching out for the next stage of evolution.. I previsualized this scene before setting out to capture the elements required for it. I then combined the exposures for the final result to come together the way I had envisioned it. Technical stuff.. Multiple exposures manually blended the way I saw this scene in my mind.

Location
This photo was more of an artistic creation but the elements were photographed in the Canadian RockiesTime
I shot a series of exposures at this location from sunset all the way into the middle of the night. It was extremely cold but the result was worth it.Lighting
I wanted to convey a otherworldly feel through this image by capturing both the stars and sunset light several hours apart. Then creatively merging the elements for the final resultEquipment
I shot this scene with my full frame Canon 6D camera. I used my tripod as well. At the time I was shooting with my 14mm samyang lens.Inspiration
A few things inspired me to take this photo. One would be the talented Marc Adamus who is well known in the landscape photography business. Of course this image is quite old and my techniques have changed a great deal from when I shot this scene.Editing
I shot multiple exposures of the scene from sunset into the night then merged all images using photoshop techniques. In my camera bag
Nikon d810, 14-24mm Nikon lens. A few tripods. Wonderpana CPL filters. A star tracking unit for shooting the milky way.Feedback
Always stick to what you enjoy doing. Never try to copy and replicate others just be yourself. We all have our own creative artistic vision so show it!
