Behind The Lens

Location

I took this right next to my home in Liberty, SC. I have been so blessed with this amazing hill, just a couple steps outside my yard.

Time

This was shot right at sunset and it was stunning with the sun setting at the top of the road.

Lighting

I used all natural lighting and no flash was required.

Equipment

Nikon D7100 with a 35 mm 1.8

Inspiration

I had bought this suitcase from another photographer and was so excited to shoot with it. My daughter is one of my most favorite models and we had a blast with this little creative session of running away to Nana's.

Editing

I did my usual handediting in Lightroom to give this image the pop and artistic style that I love.

In my camera bag

I have a D7100, D3100. D90, 35 Film Praktica with 50 1.4, 35 sigma art 1.4, 35 1.8, 50 1.8, 60 2.8, 85 1.8, 18-55 and 55-200. I also have a Canon flash that I treasure because it was given to me from a dear friend. The only thing in my bag that is a Canon. ;)

Feedback

Look beyond where you would normally shoot. I have found some amazing places just right around the corner from my house. It may not be where you bring your clients, but for creative sessions it can be perfect. So go out and explore what is around you. You honestly never know what great picture you can take until you try. Good luck :)
