Behind The Lens

Location

This is the very first photo I ever took with my very first DSLR camera. I took this photo of my English Mastiff (Riddick) in my home in Texas.

Time

This picture was taken at mid morning.

Lighting

I wish I could say I used a certain light, or flash, but I'm very new and actually was just playing with my first DSLR camera.

Equipment

I used a Nikon D3200.

Inspiration

Riddick was very curious about the camera and just the way he was looking up at me melted my heart. I wanted to remember that moment forever.

Editing

I did. Again this was all when I first started taking photos and was just messing around. I used Lightroom 5 and watch videos on how to take unwanted things out of the photo and was able to take my other dogs leg out of the photo. I brightened his eyes also. Then I just started playing with adjustments until I liked how the photo looked.

In my camera bag

My bag currently has my camera, two different lenses, and a couple of filters. I wish I had more, but I am brand new and am teaching myself how to take photos and post process.

Feedback

The advice I have is to take photos of anything that makes you smile, cry, or touches your soul. Learn as much as you can from others, and take chances.
