This bird is a rose-ringed parakeet (Psittacula krameri), photographed in the Botanic Garden in Leiden, the Netherlands. It is an invasive species in Europe, abandoned in the wild by their keepers. Though invasive, this parakeet has one advantage: if it is abandoned in a city, the population stays there and doesn't spread further. The biologists of the garden gave the birds a necklace with a number to observe them.
