This photo was taken in my home. I am just starting into the art of photography, so my studio consist of a small table, lamps for different angles of lighting and some poster board for different background color. This photo was my first indoor staged photo.Time
I set this shot up just before sunset when I had some light filtering in thru the window of the room. The evening light helped to emphasize some of the shadowing I was going for.Lighting
Other than the sunlight coming into the room, I was only using the built in camera flash for this shot.Equipment
This was shot on a Cannon EOS Rebel T3 with a 18-55mm lens. No other equipment was used.Inspiration
This was actually one of my first shots in manual mode and in RAW on my camera. I was looking for something to practice on and had just purchased these lilies for my wife. I couldn't wait to try out some of the things I had been reading about with the different settings. After a few shots and adjustments, I sat down at my computer to see the results.Editing
Other than some cropping and removing some leaves from the bottom of the frame, nothing else was changed. In my camera bag
My camera bag is very simple for now. Other than my camera, I carry my 18-55mm and a 75-300mm lenses.Feedback
Always try to see things differently from what is normal. Try a different angle, don't look at everything head-on. Use a variety of lighting to create your shadows, shadows create dimension. And always keep learning, remember you can always be better.
