Behind The Lens

Location

This photo is taken at sanskruti resort at Pune, It was a full day outing with family and friends to celebrate first birthday of a friend's son. There was this potter working on small items so that visitors can experience the fine art of pottery, I've also tried my hand on the same, but this photo is taken when the skillful hands of the potter was giving shape to another fine example of craftsmanship.

Time

This photo is taken around the noon time, but it was a covered place so no harsh light was there.

Lighting

nothing was actually planned about the lighting, i was more concerned about the movement to capture as the potter's hands were constantly moving and I tried to capture the moment when the hand is perfectly placed on the object to emphasize its shape in the motion.

Equipment

This photo is taken with my Sony DSC H10 camera, no tripod or flash is used, as was I was not having a tripod with me I placed my elbows on the nearby stone stand to get a clear and sharp photo.

Inspiration

Nature inspires me a lot, and when I tried my hand on the fine art of pottery; it was an instant connection. It took me back to my childhood days when as a kid I used to play a lot in my garden, this feeling was so wonderful that I wanted it to stay with me through my photograph.

Editing

This was a color photograph, but as I said earlier, this experience of pottery took me back to my childhood. I turned this photo to a B&W one , adjusted the levels, brightness and contrast a bit.

In my camera bag

I wish I could have the type of equipment mention in the example you've given, but I just have my Sony DSC H10 with me.

Feedback

I am not a pro to advice something, but what I can definitely suggest is to follow your heart. Capture whatever you find worth taking a pic. Respect the nature and enjoy the creativity.
