The United Nations has designated the right to education as a fundamental human right. The Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the International Covenant on Economic, Social, and Cultural Rights both include it as a fundamental human right. The right to education comprises the right to a free and obligatory primary education, the right to an equal opportunity to get a quality education, and the right to merit-based admission to further education. Education is crucial for the evolution of both individuals and societies, and it aids in the eradication of poverty, the advancement of economic development, and the realisation of social justice. Regardless of a person's socioeconomic situation, gender, race, or level of impairment, governments must make sure that education is available, inexpensive, and of high quality for all.
