Location
Death valley, CA under 130+ degree temperatures.Time
Early morning between 5-6 AM to catch the sunrise.Lighting
Natural light, golden hour.Equipment
Nikon F 24mm., and a mirrorless camera with a tripod.Inspiration
On a cloudy summer morning, It was a hard sweaty hike to get to this point., and I found another fellow amateur photographer (in the shot) in the void desert. I requested him to walk till the sand dune edge to create the leading lines for the shot, by the time he walked to the edge, the sun came up, exactly what I was aiming for ... click click click!Editing
Minor Lightroom adjustments to make the colors pop.In my camera bag
I use Nikon, but it doesn't matter what camera you use! It is all about your intiution. I carry a nifty fifty (most of the times) and a wide angle lens for nature photography. Easy to carry when you are traveling.Feedback
It is always a good idea to plan your shots ... sometimes you get some lucky ones without any planning, other times you plan everything but you don't get the one you were aiming for! Don't get frustrated ... it is part of the game. Good luck!
