Location
This photo was taken in the beautiful French city of Bordeaux. It is of the Bordeaux Opera House.Time
Bordeaux unlike Paris is not a city of lights. Much of the city is dark at night with only the shops and restaurant lighting your way. Of course there are street lights but many of the buildings are much higher. The opera house simply jumps out because of how well it is lit at night. I took this photo as I was walking in the area after a late dinner around 10:00 pmLighting
I just used the light of the building itself to produce this shot.Equipment
I am never without my camera when traveling. Here I used my Nikon D850. I shot available light without a tripod or flash.Inspiration
I was curious about the night time activity in the square. As I was approaching the Square, I noticed how the Opera House stood out against the sky. I positioned myself in what Ii thought was the most advantageous position to capture the scope of the size and architecture of the Opera House.Editing
I did a little cropping of the photo to make it more appealing. In my camera bag
If I do carry my bag it will contain, usually one of my Nikons, a flash unit, an extra lens or two, cleaning gear, spare batteries, and extra cards.Feedback
Like I always tell people, "Seek and you will find". That especially goes for photography when you are exploring new and interesting locations.
