Location
This photo was taken at Chichen Itza archeological site, Yucatan, Mexico.Time
Well, I do not remember exactly as I took the photo at the beginning of March 1998 when traveling from Merida to Cancun. The bus took a four-hour break and so I had the opportunity to see this highly interesting place. The photo was likely taken at about 1 p.m.Lighting
The lighting conditions were not ideal. It was just after lunch and it was partly cloudy, i.e. sometimes the sun shone brightly and sometimes was behind clouds.Equipment
At that time I took pictures on film cameras. Specifically, it was a Minolta Dynax 700si with a Minolta 28-105/3.5-4.5 lens.Inspiration
Chichen Itza is a well-known archeological site of Yucatan with many remnants of Mayan architecture and perhaps everyone who visits this place is tempted to take some photos of this attractive site.Editing
As the photo was taken by the film camera, I had to do a lot of post-processing. First, the image had to be scanned, and many artifacts generated by the scanning had to be removed. When digitalized, "normal" editing started. The image was transformed into the b/w form and further improved. I fact, all the process was quite long and tedious. In my camera bag
Now I use digital cameras, of course. Particularly, it is the Sony A7 Mark 3 in the last 2 years. As far as lenses are concerned, usually, I have Sony 24-70/2.8, Sony 12-24/4, Sony Zeiss 55/1.8, and, if necessary, a telelens like Minolta 200/2.8 or Sony 100-400/4-5.6 in my bag.Feedback
A photographer taking photos of architecture should have some preliminary knowledge of that architecture as the image composition is usually a critical issue, in my opinion.
