Location
This was orginally an indoor shoot, however after my flash trigger broke I decided to do a quick setup in my garden with a simple black backdrop.Time
This was around 3:30 in the afternoon. It was quite overcast and windy!Lighting
As this was shot in mid-afternoon its usually pretty sunny however during this time, it was a cloudy day. It was an ample natural light since the overcast skies gave a diffuse lighting.Equipment
I shot this with a Fujifilm X-T20 using XC 18-55mm lens.Inspiration
I received a collection of gowns from my aunt and I wanted to take these classic romantic portrait using these gowns.Editing
Yes, I shot in JPG and edited in Lightroom first and then Photoshop. I wanted a portrait with less contrast and cooler tones. As i shot this in a plain background I decided to add vines behind the model to give it a more romantic, vintage feel.In my camera bag
For an outdoor shoot I have my camera, my portrait lens: 18-55mm and a 50mm. I also bring a reflector, speedlite, extra batteries, and include a few makeup too for quick touchupsFeedback
If you're unsure on how to pose your female model, you can start with this one. It's a classic "looking back" pose to give you a soft, kind of coy expression. :)
