My wife and I were on a nature hike - something we usually do around our anniversary. This year we were trying to see some fall foliage so we delayed our trip a few months and went the first week of October. We never got to see the leaves turn colors though. We reached the top around lunch time so it was around noon. We were lucky because it was a cloudy day but it cleared up right when we arrived.Lighting
All the lighting is completely natural.Equipment
I used my Nikon D5700. which is a really good lower end camera - my starter camera.Inspiration
I am a novice photographer and at this point I am just taking random shots and trying different settings or tricks that I read about. I took this shot because I was trying to get the mountain and reflection in a frame of trees that were close by.Editing
I did very little post processing. The main thing I did was make the blues just a bit bluer and the greens a bit darker. I also did the standard lens correction that Lightroom offers. In my camera bag
At the time of this picture I didn't have any habits for photo shoots. In fact I would often get frustrated because I would be somewhere and see a great shot but didn't have something I needed. Today I will carry a tripod, an extra lens, a flash, and some filters (ND filters unless I am going for something specific like black and white pics). Sadly, this past weekend I forgot both my flash and ND filters and couldn't do some shots that I thought would have been really nice. I was unprepared because it was an unscheduled trip and not one for pictures. Lesson learned. Always be prepared.Feedback
I am looking for advice myself. I am too much of a novice to offer advice. However, if you are starting out I will say be patient, keep learning, and take lots of photos. I once heard that your first 10,000 photos will be trashed. I feel that I have gotten lucky and have taken some really good shots but I have definitely deleted my fair amount of pics.
