A bird at the zoo, my first attempt at photoshopping.
This bird was behind a fence. I had to photoshop out the fence. When I did that the eye got messed up. The left eye is actually a reversal of the right eye.

I took this at the Dallas Zoo. We decided to go to the zoo after getting my new camera because I wanted to try it out.Time
Not really certain what part of the day this was because we were walking around the zoo for a long time.Lighting
I was a bit nervous taking the shot because the lighting was so low. The only equipment I had with me was a camera and this bird was in a highly shaded area. Took my chances and it turned out pretty good.Equipment
I only had my camera that day. That was a lesson learned actually. I was just getting started in photography and learned quickly that I needed a few more items on me when I go shooting.Inspiration
I was just getting into photography and wanted to learn as much as I could. I spent some time looking at photos and watching videos and just decided that it was time to actually take pics. I read that the first 1,000 or more photos you take will be deleted. I would have to say that I definitely deleted 999 or more pics that day. I do like this pic because it reminds me of my first experiences in photography.Editing
I photoshopped the heck out of this pic. The Harpy Eagle was behind a fence so I had to watch a few videos on how to get rid of the fence. When I did that it messed up the left eye. The left eye you see is actually a copy of his right eye, flipped and resized a bit.In my camera bag
When I first started I only took a camera. Now I tend to take two lenses, hood, a few filters, a tripod, and a snack.Feedback
If you are first learning I would say take as many pictures as possible, but don't just point and shoot. Try different setting and see what they do. I actually took lots of pictures with different settings before I started learning about them. For me I find that I learn better by experimenting with items before reading about them. To me I then to gain a better understanding when already know what the phrase or object is while watching the lesson.
