Location
The photo was taken at South Stack Lighthouse Anglesey Wales.Time
The shot was taken at sunset, I’d been keeping my eye on the clouds gathering and wind direction all day and thought this would be the perfect location.Lighting
I did take a few shots in colour with the sun setting but found this a bit distracting from the Lighthouse so opted to go monochrome.Equipment
I used a Cannon 6d with a Tokina 16-28mm wide angle lens with a Lee big stopper and a 0.6 med grad filter at f16 300 seconds exposure Tripod and cable releaseInspiration
The Lighthouse is within an hours drive so if conditions look good it’s worth a visitEditing
I’m a lazy post processor, switch to monochrome, maybe lift the shadows, clarity etc, usually all done in five minutes. In my camera bag
Usually carry a cannon 5d Iv now with a few lens choices, a cheap prime 35mm, small light and very effective. Tokina 16 -28mm wide angle for daylight landscapes and Samyang 14mm for nightscapesFeedback
If I could offer any advice, always Keep am eye on the weather and wind direction, things can change in minutes making the perfect shot possible.
