Behind The Lens
Location
This was taken in my old house, I had a large lounge which made a great studio.Time
It was taken about mid morning, Lexi was excited so I took her photos first whilst her mum was getting ready.Lighting
I just used two continuious 5600 lum lights with soft white umbrellas and a white 24" reflector.......Equipment
I used a Fujifilm HS30EXR camera with a fixed 18/720 zoom lens, mostly set at about 75mm to 100 mm. . Newer continuous lighting with soft white umbrellas and a white reflector.Inspiration
I used to do alot of portrait work years ago on film, mostly out doors or on stage with overhead lighting, so I recently purchased a set of studio lights and I thought I'd have ago again.Editing
I might tweak the colour or desaturate an image or tweak the contrast, occasionally adjust the shadows and brightness. In my camera bag
Mostly I carry a light weight bag camera flash unit spare batteries cleaning cloths. I might carry a reflector folded, and a kneeling pad ( bad knees) occasionally a tripodFeedback
Time and patience and some corny kids jokes and something that either squeeks or makes a farting sound great with kids and adults alike, makes them laugh, getting to know the kids before hand works well. I spent ten mins getting her to stick her tongue out even tho her mum had said it's rude to do it.......
