Location
During a 3 month road trip in the West North America; the Loaction is Monument Valley Tribal park ;Time
Sunrise is my prefered timing and it was sunrise; Obviously for those kind of picture getting also in the place before others come is important not only for the light; This was managed thanks to the courtesy of the Navajo;Lighting
I'm using a mix of Natural light and a portable Strobe, a Profoto B2 in that case that is easy to carry with his battery and the proper light shapper; Even when the sun is behing clouds , the soft light os early morning is often worth an early wake-up;Equipment
Nikon D810 , Lens 24-70 2.8 from Nikon at 28 mm; F7.1, ISO 320 and 1/250 in Manual mode (I nearly always shoot in manual mode) are the camera settings; The stobe power is setup for the model;Inspiration
I've done a long serie of Women with the Eiffel tower landscape in Paris were I live and wanted to make someting in the same idea with some specatcular landscape that insired me; Mythic landscape of Monument valley was a must do; Been there years ago and kept those landscape in mind for nearly 20 years, so I definitively wanted someting with those landscape;Editing
I'm using Lightroom for my post work ; SO classical Lightroom post-work on contrast, tint;In my camera bag
A Nikon D8xx, a 24-70 2.8 and a 14-24 2.8 are always in my bag; Then it will depend if I do have some other ideas;Feedback
The issue in Monument valley is that in summer , door open late for sunrise; The second issue here is that the modele is nude; Navajo are leaving in the area so it is better to select a place to not offense anybody; The Navajo knew what I was doing as we discussed the day before with them and they did recognize me;
