This may be one of the most climbed upon shipwrecks in the world!
I was busily getting some great shots after dragging my sleepy butt out of bed before sunrise to do so, before all the people descended to photobomb my pictures. However, the tide was coming in and the Pacific Ocean wanted to drag me, my tripod, and camera gear to Japan or somewhere. I finally and sadly had to abort my mission. But not before this (and other) masterpieces.
The Peter Iredale was a four-masted steel sailing vessel that ran ashore in 1906 on the Oregon coast near Cannon Beach. The ship was named after Peter Iredale who owned the vessel. It was abandoned near Fort Stevens.
