Behind The Lens
Location
This photograph was taken in Havasu Falls, Arizona just below Mooney falls the canyon opens up into this beautiful field of Ivy.Time
Taken at mid day.Lighting
Natural lighting in the canyon which had a reddish tint due to the red rock canyon walls and their reflective qualities. I love the contrasting colorsEquipment
This was shot hand held on a Sony a7r with a sony 18-55 kit lense. I choose this lens for two reasons one is because of the versatility of the native system elements and also the abilities of corrective lens profiles within today's editing software.Inspiration
The timing of the subject and her interaction with nature prompted me to capture the moment. I tend to seek out moments of interaction between humanity and the earths offerings of livid nature.Editing
Post processing consisted of corrections in color, highlight, and shadows. As well as the lens profile correction within Lightroom for some barreling and toning effects of the particular lens used.In my camera bag
I normally carry a kit lens sony 18-55 and a Tamron 19-35 Nikon mount with a metabones adaptor, I also have a special 50mm f1.4 vintage model Nikon mount lens that has always been with me and carries some beautiful feature building qualities and warm feelings within it.Feedback
Timing is everything. Pay close attention to actions and details taking place and definitely don't limit yourself to the world immediately around you. There is so much more just beyond what we can see.
