Behind The Lens
Location
This photo was taken last year summertime in my DIY home studio in Toronto.Time
It was around late afternoon that I took this picture. The sun was reflecting off the house behind me, so I was able to position my DIY set up in a way to capture the reflection.Lighting
I really enjoy dark and moody photography and capturing that available light to manipulate in my images. Using the foam boards, helped me to direct the light on my image that resulted in my photograph.Equipment
I used my Nikon D7200, Sigma D 18-250mm lens, black foam boards, no tripod and no flash. All natural light.Inspiration
Because of my job at the time, I was off during the summer and I always like to enjoy the aroma of flavoured coffee as I enjoy the view. I wanted to capture the image of "aroma", so using my Sigma lens I zoomed in focusing on the coffee beans in a glass mug, that would make the viewer feel that they could smell the coffee aroma.Editing
Very minimal post-processing, but adjust the exposure and enhance the mood and colour. No cropping of the image. In my camera bag
My camera bag consists of my Nikon D7200, Nikon 50mm 1.8D Prime lens, Sigma D 18-250mm and my Nikkor 18-55mm 3.5 lens, and Cameron Tripod.Feedback
Light is your best friend. Following it, capture it and use it to your advantage. I tend to shoot in natural light, but I am beginning to understand that artificial light can be your second best friend.
