The photo was captured in the Monegros desert. In the area of Huesca, Spain.
It is a long exposition of 240 seconds, as I desired the clouds be an intense red color, expanding them to place focus on the stars.
It was a magical and long night as I spent several hours waiting for the right conditions, until at 03:34 in the morning when I shot this photo.
To do this I used two external flashes connected with a trigger to the camera. During the four minutes of exposure the two flashes were used at different speeds. The result is a subrealistic photograph as though from a science fiction scene which is the look I was aiming for.

Excellent image, eyes are drawn from the front stone to the orange burst of clouds. From the thumbnail view, stars were not visible, in the actual image stars are playing such a vital background role and adding an element of drama.
