There were four horses in my top 20 Favorites for my Black Background Only Challenge, this was one of them! There were over a 1,000 entries and you deserve my recognition for an outstanding entry! Great job!

You should be so proud. This should be printed, framed and sell a million prints. A+

Location
This photo was taken in one small and pretty dark stable near the Moscow city.Time
It was a clear sunny day, so I was able to use natural lighting through the windows.Lighting
I have always been inspired by the dramatic light and low key. If it is possible to use natural light - this is the best:) in this photo, the horse runs at me, along the wall with small Windows, so my goal was to catch the moment when the light falls on the face of the horse. I believe that I got:)Equipment
I use Nikon D90 camera with Sigma 70-200 lens.Inspiration
I consider that at this moment there are too much photos that can be described like "Ohhh poooony!". I'm always look for another way, i want to catch drama, realy emotions, unusual angles and lighting. So, we just decided - why not? Let's try! And do it!:)Editing
Just a little crop, color and light correction. In my camera bag
Equine photography normaly means using "long" lenses, like 70-200, or 300mm, so it's absolutly must have. Also, i like to use 85 and 50mm lenses to catch some details, play with deepth of field and exposure. I have two Nikon cameras - D90 and P7700, and i usual use one of them.Feedback
Always remember, that your education should never stops! Looking for inspiration and creativity, and always ask yourself - "What do i want to show with this photo?" Great masters can be very inspired, but equine photography, for example, have different standards in different parts of world. Award-winning photos from US, for example, would be deleted even in camera raw by my Russia and Europa teachers, and vice versa - classical europe photos may seems too bored and usual. So, just do your work and keep your mind open!
