Each sunset is different. This one taken at Sunset Bay, Oregon demonstrates the namesake for the bay. For the photo, I timed the setting sun to be just behind a rock outcroping and lined myself up with it. It gives an aura of fire in the sky, while showing a shadow outline of nearby cliff and trees.

Behind The Lens
Location
Sunset Bay, Oregon Coast. I waited for the sun to set and timed the photograph such that it was behind a rock outcropping. This had the effect of making the sky ablaze with orange. I especially captured the profile of trees on the hillside to give the shot a little nature.Time
Taken at sunset in the fall. Can't recall the exect time, but in September, that would be 7 or 8PMLighting
A picture is worth a thousand words. The use of the rock outcropping really forced the glow of the sky surrounding it.Equipment
Canon EOS 70D camera with Tamron zoom lens.Inspiration
I like nature photography and sunsets are one aspect of nature. They call this place Sunset Bay for a good reason.Editing
None.In my camera bag
I also have a 400mm L-series Zoom lens and doubler in case I need to reach out for wildlife. But I like to keep my backpack to less than 10 pounds.Feedback
