Behind The Lens

Location

In Bolivia, during the Land Rover Challenge G4 (2006)

Time

At dusk, with sharp light before sunset

Lighting

A very difficult light, almost perpendicular (lateral) to the subjects

Equipment

Camera: Canon EOS 300D Digital. Lens: 70-200 f4L USM. Without tripod, without flash. 1/200 f/ 7,1 ISO 200

Inspiration

The very particular light

Editing

Just a slight touch to the "levels", using Photoshop, to fine-tune the vividness

In my camera bag

I currently have three "little girls" so I call the cameras: For serious jobs (and when I have space): Canon EOS 40D; Canon EF 70-200mm f1:4 L USM (Very fast in the focus and very sharp); Canon EF 28-70mm f1:2.8 L USM (my favorite MY 2000 (!!)); Canon EF 17-40mm F1:4 L USM; Canon Speedlite 430EX (I do not like to use the flash); Giottos tripod MH-1003 (with his bag, compact and light); Lowepro Computrekker AW; Lowepro EX180 (very compact but very strong). For backup Canon EOS 300D Digital with standard lens 18-55. Always in the pocket the little Canon PowherShot G16 (f1:1.8 !!)

Feedback

You need to have firm and determined hand, expose to -1/3 for the particular light, look at the picture as a whole, not just the subjects
