Location
This photo was taken at my neighbours house where I was nursing the kittens while they were away for some days hours. My neighbour is growing British short hair cats. This kitten wanted to come to me , but at the moment she saw my hand, she was gone and hiding behind the leg of the table. And that happens all the time. So I waited and later on, I sat on the ground with my camera, it took a while, but for me this was spot on, right moment, right time and what is very important to me, is sharp on the eye. I am an amateur photographer and I made a lot of different photo's from the different pups. In the meantime I have moved to another part of Holland, so I will not see them very often again.Time
When I have to nurse the cats and kittens, I go there every 3 hours to see if everything is oké. This was my 4th visit that day and about 17.00 hr. At that moment I also feed them and give them fresh water. So that is why she was watching me all the time.Lighting
I always make my photo's some darker that it should be, for me it gives more atmosphere to the photo. If necessary I can always brighten them later on.Equipment
I use a sony DSRL SLT-77V, with 24-200 lens at this moment I use the Sony 7-2V full frame with 24-240 lens. I also use my macro lens 1:1 a lot to make flower shots, which is also my passion. I also use sometimes the Sony 400 1200mm. or the Sony 10 600mm.Inspiration
No inspiration except that I always make photo's of the cats. But I always look to special things like, action and reaction.Editing
I don't make picutures anymore in RAW. In the beginning I did, but as my camera has 42 mp it will use a lot of space. It is also nog necessary anymore, because I always make photo's manualy, not in the A or S stand, which I am sure I will not be able to make nice photo's. Making photo's manually you can chose the white balance, the ISO, but for me the most important is the light. In this case I turned a coloured photo into black/white with CS5.In my camera bag
That depends on the occasion. As I make determination guides for boulders, in that case I use my S 7, and my trips. In case I go out with people for some occasion, let's say macro, I always take this camera with me with the normal lens and the macro lens. And outside I never use my tripod.Feedback
Taking photo's inside a house or somewhere else inside, use direct light from the windows, I myself never use a flashlight. So you only succeed to have a sharp photo if there is enough light, so choose a bright day.
