Location
The photo was taken in a park in Toronto.Time
It was early in the morning around 8 am.Lighting
The lighting was all natural sun. The tiny creature was constantly on the move. Normally, I would take pictures of them looking directly into the camera. However, this beetle was turning its back which I found quite cute and charming. It was early in the morning where the sun was not too bright. The natural light from the sun was able to bring out the contrast colour of the beetle with its green surrounding.Equipment
The Olympus Pen E-P5, a 60 mm lens with a tripod were used to capture this image. No flash was used because there was sufficient natural lighting.Inspiration
I love macro photography. It was in early May where everything was just coming out- flowers and bugs. I was actually looking forward to taking flowers, but instead something red/orange caught my eyes. I was mesmorized by the little creatures constantly in motion.Editing
A little cropping was done. Other than that, nothing was done on the picture. In my camera bag
Olympus Pen E-P5 body camera with 60 mm lens for macro photography, and the Pro 12-40 mm M. Zuiko lens for general use.Feedback
All I can say is that the more practice the better, while having fun at the same time. I found out that natural light is much better in bringing out the image than artificial light. I also find that when the sun is too bright, the image is too overexposed. I actually like it when the day is partially sunny/cloudy just enough light to capture the image. The best time for me to capture is early in the morning where tiny creatures are still around and fully energized.
