This picture was taken in the big backyard of my aunt's house in rural area in Vietnam. I was visiting Vietnam at the time.Time
This was early in the morning at 8 am when I needed my morning walk. I took a walk around in my aunt's backyard as she grew all kinds of trees and vegetables. I liked to explore and just wanted to relax. I spotted this huge insect and it just stood there. Not sure what it was but it looked so interesting so I dashed into the house and took my camera. I was saying to myself, "please be there, do not fly away". To my surprise and I was so happy. I just took my camera and shot a few shots. I believe it was a female mosquito.Lighting
The insect was surrounded by all kinds of vegetables with the full sun shining on it. I did not really need to use any built-in flash of the camera. The lighting was perfect.Equipment
I had no time to use any tripod. The only thing I can think of at the time is the insect please...Don't you dare fly away!.... I only had with me my Olympus camera with the 60 mm macro lens.Inspiration
I love the nature - trees, plants, vegetables, insects etc. I love the fresh air in the morning. The insect was just there and it just clicked. I was just supposed to have some nice walk around the yard and it just happened that I saw this incredible insect. The next thing I remembered was that my camera was in my hand and some shots were made.Editing
I did a little of cropping. I believed I just did a little of contrasting in post-processing in the lightroom. I still do not know much about post processing though. In my camera bag
My Olympus camera with with 60mm macro lens only. I did not have time to think about the tripod. Afraid the insect would fly away. No flash was used as the sun was sufficient.Feedback
Just have fun in what you do. If you enjoy walking, have a walk around the yard and something nice may catch your eyes. You see, you enjoy the walk and able to catch some nice shots at the same time. It has to be fun to have great photographs.
