I'll wake you up when I'm done putting all the flowers around. Well done!

Location
We worked on this image at my new studio for the release and exhibition to launch the space. It took hours getting everything perfect and with out such an amazing team by my side, we wouldnt have gotten these results.Time
We ended up shooting from about 12pm to 6pm, yes there was pizza involved!Lighting
The lighting setup was actually very simple, the challenge was getting the higher perspective over the model. Standing on a ladder for a couple of hours was a challenge on its own!Equipment
Firstly, a Ladder! Then black velvet cloth. Then the usual with gear, a Nikon D810 with the very normal 50mm F1.8G. Two Profoto D1 500w and the trust Spydr Color Checker.Inspiration
I was inspired by simplicity. How can I create something beautiful, but clean and simple? The naming and the story only came to me afterwards. I used a few references, but on the day I left it up to the creative juices to do the rest! I recommend not always trying to stick to the references too much, playing around is probably going to get you even better results, and more in line with your personal shooting style!Editing
I actually did very little post work on this image, I mainly worked on the colour. Things like removing a little bit of the underwear that was still showing and then maybe adding one or two flowers here and there just to fill the space a bit better. Other than some dodging and burning to work on the skin abit, our makeup artist basically worked on her entire body to give it a good shine, so real props to Jade Alexandra for that!In my camera bag
I recently really trimmed down my gear, to only the essentials. Having one bag that fits everything yet still gives me the options to be creative and deliver professional results. I have a Lowerpro 450AW that holds my Canon 5DSR, Tamron 70-200, Sigma 50mm ART and Sigma 24mm ART along with a Profoto B1 and then I just attach a couple of the light weight Profoto OCF modifiers to the clips on the outside of my bag. Im ready for anything with this kit!Feedback
Like I said before, have and idea in mind, have references but, that is only your starting point. Allow yourself space to be creative, look at the reference and go "I love this but, I would do X differently" Either try and improve on their idea or really just take inspiration from it, dont replicate it. One tip for every photographer starting out or struggling to get out of a creative rut, is just to keep it simple. try something different with your lighting, you dont need 5 or 6 different lights just to make something pretty, hell you dont need any lights! It just depends on what your idea is, but most of the time the more simple you keep it, the better it will be, because otherwise you're distracting people with your funky lighting and then they no longer see the subject that really counts. At the end of the day the subject is your top priority and your lighting should be used to enhance the subject, not to show people how good you are at lighting or how many lights you can use in an image.
