I was on a road trip when I noticed that the dull grey clouds were breaking-up and interacting subtly with the intensifying sunlight. After a few more km's it was apparent that there would be something special happening in the sky that evening. I slowed down and looked for some high ground or a clearing to get a good view of the sky, but after 10km I had all but given up. I pulled over and had a look at the GPS and saw that there was a small lake down a side-road, only a few km's away. I arrived just in time, and after frantically setting up the gear, I was able to relax and enjoy a truly spectacular sight. Shot at 16mm with Lee 2 stop hard ND grad.
