Good grief the editors at this site on are compete (eggs heads) no creative juices running through their being, the photo of the ape was good, but your photo was better. Great photography is looking for the something different and your photo captured that moment.

Wow! This one gets it!! A winner in nature's perfect moment.
You are free to check out my lounging black bear. Not near as good as this, but it was a fun catch.

Location
This photo was taken at the Buffalo Zoo in Buffalo, NY. The Buffalo Zoo was founded in 1875 and is the third oldest zoo in our country. The series of shots I took turned out to be one of my favorite shoots ever. One of the other shots in the series has hung in the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History in Washington, DC and won First Place in the Zoos and Aquariums category in the Windland Smith Rice International Awards contest sponsored by Nature's Best Magazine. My bear/bee series was also licensed by Caters News and published by The New York Post, Daily Mail/UK, The Guardian, Express, Metro News and others.Time
The image was shot at 9:45AM shortly after the zoo opened for the day. The bear den is usually the first place I like to explore as the bears are usually pretty active around that time of day.Lighting
The lighting is usually good in the morning when the sun shines over the den.Equipment
This shot was taken back in 2004 when I used my Canon EOS 10D with my Canon EF 100-400mmL lens. Using this long lens, I was able to take some nice close-ups of the Kodiak bear's face. No tripod was used.Inspiration
I was observing the Kodiak bear and he seemed to be distracted and bothered by something. I looked through my lens at 400mm and discovered that there were quite a few pesky bees swarming around his head. He was trying to snap at them with his mouth. I took several shots in succession trying to catch the action. It was pretty comical but at the same time, I felt badly for the bear being bothered by the flying pests.Editing
I didn't do much to the image files, just brighten them basically and do slight touch-ups and little cropping. In my camera bag
I am currently using a Canon 5D MarkIII SLR camera along with several lenses. Among them are my Canon EF24-105mmL, Canon 17-40mmL, Canon EF15mm Fisheye, a Canon EF100mmMacroL, A Sigma 150-500mm and Tamron 28-300mm for times when I don't feel like lugging a lot of equipment.Feedback
You never know what you're going to find when out shooting in nature or even at your local zoo. Just keep your eyes open and be ready at a moment's notice with your equipment because great things can happen in an instant.
