Location
I took this picture at Arches National Park in Utah. This particular arch is called the Delicate Arch.Time
Dusk was settling in along with a storm beginning to move in.Lighting
The sun was setting and the golden hour was creating a palette of powerful warm and cool hues that caressed the landscape. The scene was tranquil yet exhilarating, forcing the eye to take in as many colors as one could. Capturing this moment was shared but yet unique to the brilliant patience of the dying sun. The sun gave this timeless arch a grand finale to the day by welcoming the embers of disappearing light that faded into one last glorious look into the beauty of the earth.Equipment
Nikon D90 Nikkon lens 70-300mm f/5.6 1/80 ISO 160, TRIPOD, cable releaseInspiration
There are many pictures of the Delicate Arch, I wanted something different. I also wanted to highlight the surrounding landscape because it was incredible. I wanted to include everything that I was seeing. I wanted every detail, color, mountain, and cloud to be seen. The colors that were being created by the fading sun was spectacular, that was the inspiring factor among others.Editing
The only thing that I post-processed was the highlights besides that the picture in my opinion was what I wanted. In my camera bag

When viewing a landscape try and see something different about that space. Try different viewpoints or obscure positioning. Sometimes it's a challenge to think outside the box but seeing a landscape at a different angle, vantage point, or time of day/night could result in great creativity. If you're seeking something unique or different, take advantage of knowing the light at different parts of the day. Being patient will reward you in the stillness of a photograph.
