Location
This photo of my daughter was taken, impromptu, last October.Time
It was late in the day, during the "Golden" hour. The sun had almost set, leaving an erie glow about the pasture.Lighting
For my outdoor portraits, such as this image, I usually try to shoot during the last part of the day, just before the sun sets.Equipment
I currently shoot with a Nikon D750.Inspiration
I found this great piece of fabric in a discount bin at a craft sale. I loved the way the edges had started to fray, leaving the material looking worn and full of life. My daughter was blessed with the deepest, darkest eyes, which you are automatically drawn towards. I wanted to create something that would focus on just that part.Editing
I use a combination of Lightroom, finished with a few tweaks in photoshop. In my camera bag
Believe it or not, I rarely carry a camera bag. I have a certain lens that has never failed and I am a creature of habit.Feedback
My advice to recreate this image, would be to let your creative juices flow. You may end up with something totally different than what you intended and that is ok! After all, we are all artist.
