Location
This photo was taken in my backyard in Wisconsin.Time
This photo was taken an about 3 in the afternoon on an overcast day in the summer.Lighting
Overcast is my favorite condition to shoot in because there is a nice even light distributed everywhere.Equipment
I used my Sony a65 camera, with a 18-55 mm f3.5/5.6 lensInspiration
I've always liked photo shoots that covered the subject in paint, so I decided to do one of my own. During the shoot my model's hands looked so cool, too, I just had to get a shot of her messy hands!Editing
I messed with the saturation and contrast a little bit, but that was it.In my camera bag
I typically carry around, besides my camera of course, a 18-65mm and a 55-300mm lens. If I am doing and outdoor shoot, I always be sure to carry my reflector. I also carry around a flash from time to time, if it's dark or shadowy outside. But for this particular shoot no lighting equipment or reflectors were needed.Feedback
Have fun with depth of field! Be creative, think about what you want to really focus on. Think outside the box and don't always go for the regular portrait.
