This photo was taken at Embarcadero Center in San Francisco on a street overpass.Time
Late afternoon. It's a great time to catch the shadows of the buildings playing off each other.Lighting
I always like walking through a big city like San Francisco and finding what surprises the light and shadows present. Each day is something different.Equipment
This was shot with my iPhone 6 Plus and them run though a few different apps to get the tilt shift effect.Inspiration
I thought the scene would make an interesting tilt shift image.Editing
I almost always run my iPhone photos through at least 2-3 different apps. Sometimes that's more fun than actually taking the photo. This photo, I brought out the colors a bit and messed with the focus to highlight the pedestrians in the crosswalk. In my camera bag
Nowadays I usually shot with either my Sony A7ii or my iPhone 7 Plus.Feedback
Tilt shifts are fun and sometimes makes scenes look like miniature models. It's best to find a scene that can be shot pretty wide so you can focus on one small element in the scene. Try it, it's fun!
