Behind The Lens

The photo was taken at The Photography Show in Birmingham. It was during the tutorial on continuous lights.Time
This was taken around lunch time using the artificial lighting in the building plus the continuous lights presented by the tutor. It was taken while being surrounded by a lot of photographers who attended the tutorial but luckily I had a long lens so I could do it from the distance and create this private look.Lighting
I didn't use any other lighting than the one provided on the show. The continuous light panels are definitely impressive and worth recommending for this type of photography.Equipment
I used my Canon 6 body with one of my favorite lenses canon 70-200 mm f/2.8Inspiration
I love portrait photography and different way to make them more dramatic and give them more character. The show was definitely very inspiring and lessons very useful.Editing
I did a little post-processing using Lightroom - just a little crop and some highlight and shadows tweak. In my camera bag
My usual equipment is Canon 5 D and a few favorite lenses - the everlasting 50 mm f/1.4, macro 100 mm f/2.8 and 70-200 mm f/2.8. A wide lens of 24mm f/1.4 is also amazing.Feedback
This kind of portrait is not difficult to arrange. I highly recommend using the continuous lights panels and it makes the effects appear straight away. You can change the strength and use if for different types of portraits. The effect can be magic!
