Location
It was taken at home of an ordinary drinking water glass.Time
At night with candle light.Lighting
I like to try different light sources to capture reflections in glass. Prefer to never use flash of any kind.Equipment
NIKON with extension tubes and a 35-70 Nikkor lense. Always on a tripod and never flash.Inspiration
I love the way glass distort light and reflections. I usually under expose by up to 3 stops to get vibrant colours. The total size of this image is probably 1 cm x 3 cm, if that much.Editing
I use auto white balance, aperture priority and in camera cropping. Old school photographer. I try to spend as little time on post processing as possible. Mostly do levels and contrast and that is it.In my camera bag
I have D300s, aD7100 body and a wide variwtyvof lenses but somehow always end up with either the macro lense or extension tubes. I love abstract photography and have a passion for minute detail - seeing the unseen.Feedback
Play around with different glass objects. Cheap glass with flaws make for nicer images than pure or cut glass. I use candles, reflected artificial light or my favourite -sunlight. Experiment with different apertures. Same spot with different exposure and aperture may result in completely different images. Glass paperweights and shattered windscreens make for very interesting subject matter.
