Setting sun shot with a Nikon D5000 and 1000mm full frame fixed focal length manual lens (equivalence ~1500mm with the 1.5 DX multiplier) during the 2010 forest fires NW Washington. Since I didn't have my tripod with me, I used the hood of my car to stabilize my equipment. The trees in this shot are at least 2 miles away and since I was using a telephoto lens there is no true perspective of depth in this shot. No filters were used or required. I believe the black speck to be Venus although I could not get any confirmation.

Very beautiful. Very similar to the one of mine, funnily enough I also use my car to stabilise the camera and the Nikon D5000, 150-500 sigma lens. You Washington, me Brisbane. LOL great work.
